Steve Gottlieb brings a distinctive background, skill set, and perspective to SG Business Creativity's Presentations and Workshops. For 35 years, he has had a front row seat in watching the creative process at work in a wide-range of contexts. Steve graduated from Columbia University College and Law School
and practiced law in two large firms and the Federal government before becoming Environ-mental Director for the United States Synthetic Fuels Corporation. In those positions, he represented clients, managed a professional staff, reported to a board of directors, shaped corporate policies, testified before congressional committees, and served on several White House task forces.
In a mid-life career shift, Steve became a professional photographer, producing images for a long list of Blue Chip clients. He is the photographer--as well as author and designer--of five acclaimed coffee-table books. One of his books was selected "Gift Book of the Year" by both People magazine and USA Today. Eastman Kodak designated Steve a "World-Class Kodak Professional Icon," one of only six photographers so honored. In 2004, Steve established Horizon Photography Workshops where he and a dozen accomplished colleagues draw students from all across the United States (www.horizonworkshops.com). He divides his time between Horizon Photography Workshops and SG Business Creativity.
In his free time, Steve is a competitive tennis player (he was ranked #1 in men's 35, 40 and 45 age divisions in the Middle Atlantic region), an avid music and classic movie fan, and the father of two grown sons. He resides in Chesapeake City, Maryland, where Horizon Workshops is headquartered.
